Welcome to Mt. Pleasant High School--Home of the Oilers! We are located in central Michigan. We have approximately 1200 students in grades 9-12. The renovations and the new building are complete, and we now have state of the art facilities including an auditorium and 2,000 seat gymnasium. Our new facility, including the Area Technical Center, offers students an optimal environment and a wide variety of educational opportunities. We are very proud of our diverse academic curriculums, experienced teaching staff, and outstanding students.
Accredited by North Central Association (NCA), MPHS offers over 120 courses, including exploratory classes to introduce students to the many programs available through the Area Technical Center. Honors and advanced level courses exist in each of the academic departments with Advanced Placement courses in Calculus and Physics. In addition 70-100 students a semester participate in dual enrollment or concurrent enrollment programs. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities. They can choose from over 25 clubs, 24 sports, and a variety of drama and music offerings. Student leadership groups include Student Senate, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, and National Vocational-Technical Honor Society. Due to the large number of students involved in extra-curricular activities, parent involvement is strong. Parents support the students through active participation in booster clubs and fund-raising activities.
